California School for the Deaf will host its 11th annual d’Estrella ASL Media Festival on Tuesday, April 23, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. This year, the format will be a guided tour every half hour, and registration is required in advance.
Note: Please arrive early to check in prior to your scheduled tour.
We welcome students of American Sign Language; families with Deaf children; and the Deaf community to join us in celebrating Deaf culture and American Sign Language. Both ASL/English and Spanish/English interpreters will be provided.
Experience Deaf art and culture through informative ASL, multimedia, art, creative ASL, and photography. Enjoy game activities, ASL music, intense cinematic ASL, documents and interviews. Elementary, middle school, and high school students will present ASL showcases. The newly renovated CSD Deaf Museum will be open to display the history of California School for the Deaf.
The goal of this festival is to celebrate the intersectionality of Deafhood and American Sign Language; promote human dignity; and remove stigmas and audism.
